Join our technical specialists online for an hour of live electron microscopy guided by the audience.
Each month, we’ll be bringing the electron microscopy lab to you whether you’re in your living room, your classroom, or at your desk. We’ll be exploring a range of different samples and letting the audience decide what we focus on. During the session, you’ll be able to ask questions and see just what goes on in the laboratory.
This free interactive event will bring you up close and personal with our electron microscopes, showing you how they work, what they do, and why they’re useful. With a new sample each month, we’ll show you what different things look like up close and what we can learn from them.
Microscopy Live will be held via Zoom and recorded so you can enjoy it in your own time, so make sure you register using the form on our website to get access and to stay up to date!
Our next Microscopy LIVE! event is on Friday 28 January 2022 between 11:00–12:00. This one is all about the Pets of PEMC and we'll be taking a look at some of the fur and hair of our team members' pets. If you'd like to see what your pet's fur (or scales or skin) looks like under the microscope, send a sample to us and we'll do our best to let you see your beloved animals fur up close!
Please send your sample to us at the Plymouth Electron Microscopy Centre, University of Plymouth, Drake Circus, Plymouth, PL4 8AA by Friday 21 January.
