Join our technical specialists online for an hour of live electron microscopy guided by the audience.
Each month, we’ll be bringing the electron microscopy lab to you whether you’re in your living room, your classroom, or at your desk. We’ll be exploring a range of different samples and letting the audience decide what we focus on. During the session, you’ll be able to ask questions and see just what goes on in the laboratory.
This free interactive event will bring you up close and personal with our electron microscopes, showing you how they work, what they do, and why they’re useful. With a new sample each month, we’ll show you what different things look like up close and what we can learn from them.
Microscopy Live will be held via Zoom and recorded so you can enjoy it in your own time, so make sure you register using the form on our website to get access and to stay up to date!
The Microscopy Live! event on Friday 28 January 2022 was all about the Pets of PEMC and we looked at some of the fur and hair of our team members' pets. We also received samples from the public to see what their pet's fur (or scales or skin) looked like under the microscope.

The sessions are aimed at anyone who has an interest in science or would like to know a little bit more about electron microscopy.
Events are free to attend but please book via each individual event page, so we can distribute the Zoom link.
Microscopy Live! is delivered in partnership with JEOL UK Ltd.
