Soap films and bubbles are beautiful but, surprisingly, they can also be used to solve problems that occur in nature, science and modern technology. This is all based on understanding why bubbles are round. The talk will explore regular shapes, modern architecture, how whales hunt and the shortest ways to connect points.

We will try not to trap anyone permanently inside a bubble…
