The theme of the 2016 Seafarers Awareness Week (20-26 June) is the promotion of UK maritime job opportunities at sea and ashore.

At Plymouth a short seminar and workshop focused on the UK government’s Maritime Growth Study will be held at the recently opened Plymouth University Marine Station at Coxside.

The maritime industries have been identified as having high growth potential by both the UK government and European Commission. As Britain’s Ocean City, Plymouth also has ambitions to develop its own maritime industries.

The seminar will provide an opportunity for delegates to informally discuss and air their concerns about the development of the sector and the provision of new opportunities for future generations.

Please note that attendance at this free event is by invitation. However, if an invitation has not been received and you wish to attend, please contact Paul Wright (email: paulwright.Plym@outlook.com / tel: 01752 405603) to confirm availability of a place.

The event is supported by Seafarers UK, Plymouth University Marine Institute and the Nautical Institute (South West England Branch).
