Dr Judith Rowbotham from the University of Plymouth marks the centenary of the Representation of the People Act.

The Act granted the vote to women over the age of 30 who met a property qualification. The same Act also gave the vote to all men over the age of 21.

Find out how a newly amalgamated Plymouth was impacted in 1918 by the first election to feature universal male suffrage and selective female suffrage.

Tickets cost £2 per person and advanced booking is advised via the above link or pay on the day if seats are still available.

This is a ‘Museum On Tour’ event for The Box, Plymouth.
