The LGBT+ Staff Forum are proud to have a network of nearly 200 'allies', but what does it mean to be an LGBT+ ally and how can you be a useful one? This facilitated training session is delivered in partnership with LGBT+ Staff Forum and the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Team to enable all University staff to be fearless, supportive and informed allies to LGBT+ staff and students.
The session will cover:
- Terminology and phrases
- Historical context to the LGBT civil rights movement
- Case studies from LGBT+ staff and students
- How to be an effective LGBT+ ally
About the LGBT+ Staff Forum
The LGBT+ Staff Forum exists to give a voice to all LGBT+ staff at the University of Plymouth. They provide confidential support for all LGBT+ Staff and Allies worried about LGBT+ colleagues and encourage all staff to celebrate diversity and influence policy via the University’s EDI Committee.
