Calling University of Plymouth students! Are you interested in meditation and would like to learn how to meditate?
Then join this free four week course to develop a more peaceful, still and happy mind. No previous experience is necessary and you will be contributing to psychology research.
Paul Sharpe, a University PhD student, says: "Meditation fascinates me and is central to my PhD research in the School of Psychology. The course I’m offering consists of four interactive and practical one hour small group sessions. The design, based on my own meditation experience, aims to provide the best possible introduction to the beneficial effects of meditation. You will need to commit some time very day to practise on your own between sessions.
Participants who have completed the course have found it rewarding, and managed to fit the practice around their other daily commitments.
You are also invited to participate in my associated research, which would involve a testing session of approximately one hour before and after the four week course. Psychology students would receive two participation points for each of these sessions. Non-psychology students would receive £8 per session.
The course will be presented multiple times. There is also flexibility over precise start dates and times, so please do make contact if you would like to attend but are unavailable on the advertised start date. I look forward to seeing you on a course!"
