Calling University of Plymouth students! Are you interested in meditation and would like to learn how to meditate?
Then join this free eight week course to develop a more peaceful body and mind. No previous experience is necessary and you will be contributing to psychology research.
Paul Sharpe, a University of Plymouth PhD student, says: "Meditation fascinates me and is central to my PhD research in the School of Psychology. The course I’m offering consists of four interactive and practical one hour small group sessions. The design, based on my own meditation experience, aims to provide the best possible introduction to the beneficial effects of meditation. You will need to commit some time every day to practise on your own between sessions.
Participants who have completed the course have found it rewarding, and managed to fit the practice around their other daily commitments.
You are also invited to participate in my associated research, which would involve a testing session of about 30 minutes before and after the course. You will receive £4 for participating in this research (or two participation points for eligible psychology students).”
The course runs from 15:00-16:00 on the dates listed.
- Course 1: 10 October, 24 October, 7 November, 21 November.
- Course 2: 5 December, 30 January, 13 February, 27 February.
