The University of Plymouth is an internationally leading institution with regard to sustainability.

This workshop will introduce participants to the field of sustainability education and the University's leading strategy in this area. It will highlight how it is an area of innovation in higher education that our students are asking to be included within the curriculum as well as a reform agenda with an international mandate. This interactive workshop will provide practical support and access to a range of resources that will help teaching staff to critically and creatively consider how they might best integrate sustainability education into their own practice.

This session will enable you to:

  • Become familiar with the international policy, institutional strategy and student voice context for sustainability education being an exciting opportunity for innovation here at Plymouth
  • Identify how sustainability education could be introduced in the teaching practice of individual participants within their specific disciplines
  • Identify potential strategies for future innovation in this area and the types of bespoke support this might require.
