The Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers has been revised for the first time since its initiation in 2008.

The revised Concordat recognises that researchers must be given opportunities to develop their skills and experience to support the progress of their careers within universities and across employment sectors. As such, one of the specifications of the revised Concordat is that all researchers must have the opportunity of ten days of professional development pro rata, per year.

As researcher representatives on the University‚Äôs Research and Innovation Committee and REF Steering Group, Lynne Callaghan and Dawn Swancutt are supporting the work of the Researcher Forum to develop a plan to operationalise the Concordat in order that processes are in place when the University signs up to the Concordat in 2020.

We would like to invite you to an informal discussion about the revised Concordat, what this means for us as researchers and managers, implications for our group, and provide your input ahead of the Researcher Forum in February 2020.
