The Plymouth Women's Network has pleasure in inviting you to our International Women's Day celebration - an evening to nurture, empower and inspire women.

As part of this special day we will have:

“Releasing Creativity through Art” workshop with artist Marianne Sturtridge

  • This taster workshop aims to raise our awareness of our untapped capabilities to do art and feel inspired by the ethos of IWD. Please bring any words, messages or something personal you want to use in your art piece.

”Women On the Rise” talk and discussion with Labour leader Alison Seabeck

  • Alison was Member of Parliament for Plymouth Devonport and Moor View for ten years and is a member of the Fawcett Society and the Labour Women's Network.
  • Alison will be briefly talking about the way forward for the women's movement in these critical times, including the United Nations topic for this year: “Women in the Changing World of Work: Planet 50:50 by 2030”.

“Womankinder Dance” workshop with dancer Louise Henwood

  • A gentle short dance session to reconnect with ourselves and to energise us.

There will be space for socialising and networking plus free drinks and (vegan, gluten-free) snacks before and after the session.

This is a free event and doors will open at 18:30 for a 19:00 start.

Any woman is welcome but please confirm your attendance, for organisational purposes, via email ( or Facebook event page
