Seminar sessions will run over the afternoon with an opportunity to network over a cream tea. 

Seminar 1: The UK labour market for international students

Seminar 2: Visa guidelines explained 

  • Presenter: International Student Advice (ISA) 
  • Session overview: Making the most of your student visa and learn about UK immigration guidelines 

Seminar 3: Meeting UK employer expectations: Introduction to networking 

  • Presenter: Alex Houston - Careers Adviser 
  • Session overview: Learn how to make a positive impression at a networking event (with an overview how to play the networking game) 

Afternoon cream tea refreshments and networking - The Commons 

Seminar 4: Meeting UK employer expectations: CVs

  • Session overview: Learn how to structure a UK CV and tailor it effectively when applying for part-time jobs, internships and graduate opportunities

Seminar 5: Meeting UK employer expectations: Interviews 

  • Presenter: Helen Smith - Outreach Adviser
  • Session overview: Explore the common UK graduate job interview questions and the techniques involved to create a positive impression during an interview.
