Growing a social enterprise platform

This year Plymouth will celebrate its second anniversary of being a Social Enterprise City in recognition of its important role as a social enterprise hot spot. The status of Social Enterprise City has not only helped to raise the profile of the South West but has more importantly contributed to developing a wide range of opportunities and initiatives for social entrepreneurs and enterprises. The University is a key partner in the delivery of the Social Enterprise City initiative, and was the first university in the UK to be awarded the Social Enterprise Mark.

The Futures Entrepreneurship Centre launched by the University in November 2013, provides a creative and social space in which entrepreneurship and social enterprise can flourish and become a force for global organisational, societal, economic and environmental change. The centre continues to support the vibrant and growing social enterprise sector within the city and across the wider region. It is also creating a platform for growth and offer regional social enterprises the opportunity to share their experience and knowledge and playing our part in developing an ecosystem where social enterprises flourish.

Inspiring change - social enterprise stories

As a part of the series Social Enterprise City this event will look at a wide range of inspiring social enterprise stories from across the region. Social entrepreneurs will be explaining the development of their own social enterprise and share their stories.

The evening event/webinar will also be recorded and shared virtually across the region and the UK.
