Presented as part of Plymouth Enterprise Week, our leading researchers, academics and business colleagues will explore more about the strategy, models and values behind ethical businesses and how running a responsible enterprise can make you more money.
We will examine the tensions, if any, between profit and values and whether you can actually make money in the 21st century in a fair way.

Sessions overview
Working with your organisational purpose and values (Sybille Schiffmann)
In this session we are going to re-connect with what motivates us in our work and explore also how other organisations catalyse purpose at work. We will correctly identify some of your key priorities and challenges and what it may take to resolve them.
How good corporate governance can improve your financial, social and environmental sustainability (Dr Simon Ashby)
Good governance is essential in any organisation. In this session we shall look at the essential elements of good governance, including culture, communication, stakeholder engagement, board effectiveness and risk management. We shall also explore how good governance can help to improve long-term financial performance, while at the same time achieving social and environmental objectives.
Mapping sustainability: Understanding customer values towards sustainable choices (Dr Satish Basavapatna)
The social and cultural practices of the communities play a crucial role in the customer preferences and a responsible enterprise ought to consider the lifestyle and social change of the stakeholders. This research explores the relation between customer aspirations and its impact on their decision making with a focus on a specific demographic.
