Future Business: How Parenthood Made Me a Social Entrepreneur
  • Devonport Guildhall, Ker Street, Devonport, Plymouth

Save event

Cecilia Crossley, inspired by her first born, founded From Babies With Love, a social enterprise selling organic baby clothes which donates 100% of profits to children’s charities.

Cecilia says: “I’ve always been interested in the role of social enterprise and corporate social responsibility. I thought to myself, if I can buy a beautiful baby product, for great value, with great customer service, plus the profit goes to babies in need, why would I buy it anywhere else? The answer is I wouldn’t! So I set up From Babies with Love to offer beautiful baby clothes plus a heart warming feeling.”

This is one of a series of Future Business events designed to get us all thinking about social entrepreneurship and inspire conversation, reflection and action.

The event is delivered by Plymouth Social Enterprise Network in partnership with Plymouth University's Futures Entrepreneurship Centre and Plymouth City Council.

Free admission but booking is required.

About Cecilia Crossley (extract from Plymouth Social Enterprise Network profile page)

Cecilia trained as a Chartered Accountant at KPMG and went on to work for international development charities, VSO and the Gaia Foundation, where she was Head of Finance and Operations. Throughout her career she has been interested in corporate social responsibility and social enterprise.

Her mother is Brazilian, and seeing children on the streets in Rio has also influenced Cecilia’s interest in international challenges and solutions. So, maybe it was inevitable that when she became a parent, she would set up From Babies With Love.
