Change is often necessary but rarely easy. The ability to change and adapt can be crucial to the success of any organisation – large or small; business, charity or public body. But securing support from colleagues, and overcoming bureaucratic obstacles can be a major challenge for those managers who recognise when change is needed.
This free half-day taster course will help managers and leaders to successfully initiate, lead and manage change within their organisation. It will support them to identify when change is necessary and to overcome key barriers.
Key topics which will be covered include:
- defining change and change management
- identifying where change is needed
- securing 'buy-in' from key stakeholders
- overcoming resistance
- managing others through change.
The course will be particularly useful to managers and aspiring managers from businesses and organisations operating in an environment of constant change, as well as those from smaller businesses needing to introduce changes resulting from new growth opportunities. It will also provide a useful introduction to further learning in the area of leadership and management.
The course is being delivered by the University of Plymouth in partnership with the Federation of Small Businesses and Exeter Women in Business, with funding from the European Social Fund as part of the Hidden Talent in Devon project. Business owners and employees resident in Devon are eligible to attend for FREE.
A free networking lunch will be provided – please let us know whether you have any dietary requirements when booking.
Due to the nature of the funding, delegates are required to bring ID as proof of age and the right to work in the UK – a passport is the most suitable proof. Please note that we cannot accept driving licenses. Places are limited so please book now to ensure your place.
