Could you be doing more to get your marketing on track? Are you keen to know what traditional or digital approaches are most effective?

This free course will provide an introduction to the key elements of both traditional and digital marketing. This will include avoiding common marketing mistakes, boosting your web presence and online sales, and developing an effective marketing action plan.

Topics will include:

  • defining marketing
  • Theaker’s Rule of Three – questions to get you focused
  • top three marketing mistakes – and how to avoid them
  • reviewing marketing methods
  • using digital methods, including social media; websites; emails
  • making an action plan.

A free networking lunch is included, as well as tea and coffee on arrival and during the mid-morning break.

This course is being delivered by tutors from the University of Plymouth, with private sector business experience, in partnership with Exeter Women in Business. The training is fully funded through the Hidden Talent in Devon project which is part-funded by the European Social Fund and also provides an introduction to further training and higher-level skills opportunities.

Due to the nature of the funding delegates are required to bring ID as proof of age and the right to work in the UK - a passport is the most suitable proof. Please note that we cannot accept driving licenses.

The Strategic Employer Engagement (SEE) and Hidden Talent projects provide opportunities to unlock unrealised potential through improving access to higher education for businesses and individuals across Devon.

Supported by the European Social Fund, the projects bring together educational partners across the region to deliver outreach, engagement and skills development activities to promote and encourage participation in higher-level skills, regardless of ability or education level.
