Find out about Plymouth University’s award-winning business incubator, Formation Zone, and our business plan competition, the Formation Zone Business Challenge, at one of our challenge intro sessions.

Each introductory session will explain how the challenge works, the workshops and resources you will have access to and the support and advice you will receive. Find out what last year’s winners have already achieved and take your first step on the road to running your own business.

The first session is from 12:30-13:30 on 15 November and the second session is from 17:30-18:30 on 16 November. You only need to attend one of the sessions and the challenge is only open to students and recent graduates (from the last two years) of Plymouth University and its partner colleges.

Come and find out what last year’s winners have already achieved and take your first step on the road to running your own business.

What is the Formation Zone Business Challenge?

The challenge is a business plan competition brought to you by the award-winning business start-up service Formation Zone. It's an annual competition that helps you gain knowledge and expertise to develop your innovative business idea.

There are six different categories - social enterprise, creative, digital and technology, marine, health and environment - so there is something for everybody.

Innovative business ideas aim to create a product or service that is new or improved in order to satisfy a customer need. Previous challenge prize winners include ideas for environmentally-friendly cat products and a student delivery service.
