The Institute of Physics (South West Branch) are very excited to be making their return to Plymouth to bring you another day of talks and workshops.
At the Festival of Physics, expect leading scientists and speakers to take you into the weird and wonderful world of physics and its applications.
10:00 - Strange New worlds: Planets beyond our solar system (Elisabeth Matthews, University of Exeter)
11:30 - What is Light? Wave-particle duality and some disturbing consequences (Professor Roy Sambles, University of Exeter)
14:00 - Talking Balls: the Physics of Sports Projectiles (Colin White, University of Portsmouth)
15:15 - Einstein's Revolutionary ideas in 1905 (Dr Peter Ford and Dr Vincent Smith, University of Bath and University of Bristol)
Workshops: Dark Matter planetarium show and 'Is a grape magnetic?'
- The event is free to attend and open to anyone, although the talks are recommended to those over 12 years of age. Tea and coffee will be provided in breaks.
