Plymouth is home to the UK’s first National Marine Park – a unique project designed to celebrate and promote the history, habitats and industries of the important and visually stunning Plymouth Sound.

Find out about the amazing environment in and around Plymouth Sound, meet some of its most inspiring organisations – and have lots of creative fun.

Come to The Box each Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday throughout the summer holidays to discover more about it and how special it is. The team at The Box will be joined by the University of Plymouth, the Ocean Conversation Trust, South Devon AONB, Life on the Edge and Green Minds.

You can drop in for as little or as long as you like. Please be aware you may have to wait a short while if the session is busy – thanks for your patience. Free admission. No need to book.

About Green Minds

Green Minds is an Urban Innovative Actions (UIC) funded project which aims to better connect people to green and blue spaces within and around the city of Plymouth.

This innovative project is led by Plymouth City Council’s Strategic Planning and Infrastructure Department in collaboration with a range of local stakeholders including the University of Plymouth, Real Ideas, Plymouth College of Art, Devon Wildlife Trust, The Data Place and the National Trust. The project aims to improve the quality and condition of green and blue infrastructure. It also aims to positively enhance people’s interaction and involvement in these spaces, recognising that spending time in green and blue spaces has positive health and wellbeing benefits.
