The University of Plymouth's Faculty of Business, in partnership with PwC, are holding a networking breakfast during the University's Graduation Week on the Hoe. The unique location of the University’s Graduation Marquee on Plymouth Hoe promises to provide a wonderful view and setting for this breakfast.
Organisations operating in increasingly volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous times are needing to become ever more focused on their most valuable resources.
Key questions include where these resources lie, how these interact in the system, and therefore how they can harness/create the most value from them - both now and into the long term. In this context a wave of new approaches to annual and ad hoc reporting have been proposed to better measure and communicate this value, beyond last year’s financial performance. Jon Hampson from PwC will speak on how non-financial reporting measures are used to respond to this.
These times impact equally on those seeking to enter the labour market and, for organisations, pose an equal challenge around attracting and retaining the right skills to drive their organisation forward. Types of skills required by business are changing as are models for providing these. Higher Degree Apprenticeships are providing new opportunities in this area and the role of the University of Plymouth in delivering these will be presented and questions answered.
