EPIC is collaborating with Sentai in an exciting Knowledge Exchange Project (funded by HEIF) exploring the use of AI voice technology to support with caring with family members who live independently.
Sentai is an AI voice-controlled device that uses Amazon Alexa as a means of communication, alongside a remote control and sensors. You can check out Sentai’s website to understand more on how it works and its functions.
As part of the project, EPIC is inviting University students and staff to trial the technology with a family member over a six-week period. You will both be invited to give your feedback on your experience with the device. For taking part in the trial, you will be able to keep the Alexa devices, Sentai devices and receive a lifelong membership to Sentai services.
Recruitment will close once all positions have been filled, with the project finishing before Christmas 2022.
If you would like to register your interest or find out more, please email sentai.project@plymouth.ac.uk. We look forward to hearing from you.
