Accelerate Workshops

  • Venue: Room 207, Roland Levinsky Building.

Be enterprising and move your career into top gear – Accelerate!

So, the graduate market is back on the up – great! So the papers and web are brimming with employers, desperate to hire graduates – or you – right?  Not quite. In fact, a staggering 70% of graduate jobs do not make it to advertisement, so students and graduates need to be proactive and creative in their approach to their search for jobs, placements or internships. Quite simply, making it happen instead of hoping it will happen or being enterprising.

It’s fitting then, that for Enterprise Week, the Employability Service’s Accelerate programme workshops focus on hunting down graduate jobs and using social media to do more than show kittens and last night’s tea – employers are active online.

The Accelerate workshops are open to students of all subjects and levels so sign up today!

Hunt down those graduate schemes and jobs (1pm-1.45pm)

Brand yourself - be social media savvy (2pm-2.45pm)

Employer Presentation: Commercial awareness skills session (delivered by PwC)

Commercial awareness is a key attribute that recruiters are looking for but many graduates do not have the confidence to demonstrate. This session introduces you to the concept of commercial awareness, how to develop your commercial awareness and how to effectively demonstrate commercial awareness to employers.

Get yourself ahead of the game and ahead of the competition at this skills session delivered by industry experts from PwC.
