Save event

Join us in the beautiful surroundings of the UK’s largest aquarium to enjoy an informal evening of drinks, canapés, and networking with academics and practitioners in the sustainability field.

We are delighted to be joined by Tim Mac Macartney, who will be giving the presentation, A Wind Blowing – experiments in learning well.

We are increasingly confronted with the challenge of educating for the uncertain future that hurtles towards us. If there was ever a time to set aside the security of tried, tested, and compromised learning solutions this must surely be it. Mac Macartney shares some of the insights, challenges, and uncomfortable questions that have accompanied Embercombe’s journey over the last 15 years. Informed by his experience of designing and facilitating learning experiences with children, youth, higher education, and organisation leaders, Mac invites a radical re-appraisal of what education for sustainability might look like.

Mac is an internationally acclaimed speaker, author and founder of Embercombe. Mentored by a group of ‘metis’ Native Americans, which has profoundly influenced his world view, Mac works with businesses and universities to inspire people to step forward and contribute towards the emergence of a just, sustainable, and peaceful world.
