Kimia Sadr fled Iran at the age of ten in the company of her mother and sisters to join her father in France. Now 25, with a new life and the prospect of a child, Kimia is inundated by her own memories and the stories of her ancestors, which reach her in unstoppable, uncontainable waves.

In this high-spirit kaleidoscopic story, key moments of Iranian history, politics and culture punctuate stories of family drama and triumph.

This event is a joint meeting with fellow book lovers in Brest organised by Global Book Club Plymouth with the Brest-Plymouth Twinning Book Club. Please join us to share English and French perspectives on this time-travelling, intricate, award-winning novel.

This free event is open to all and will be held online. Please email s.kay@blueyonder.co.uk for joining instructions.

An initiative of Devon Development Education, Global Book Club Plymouth is supported by the University of Plymouth.
