About Katy Cawkwell

Katy has been storytelling for 20 years across Britain and is well known for unravelling epic narratives into compelling stories that linger in the mind long after they are told. Her work includes a national tour of The Kingdom of the Heart, funded by the Arts Council as well as appearances at international festivals in Austria, Sweden, Belgium and India, and performances for the Royal Opera House and the British Museum.

Society for Storytelling

The Society for Storytelling was founded in 1993 to support and promote storytelling in England and Wales. They provide a central place to find out about storytelling events, to ask for advice on using storytelling, about workshops and guide aspiring storytellers through the practice.

Their annual Gathering welcomes professional, emerging and aspiring storytellers from across the UK for a weekend of storytelling, workshops, performances and more. The 2017 Gathering is taking place in Plymouth as part of the Plymouth Festival of Words.
