Plymouth University staff are invited to attend a session on Dementia Awareness run by Ian Sherriff, Academic Partnerships Lead for Dementia at the University.

Ian, who is Chair of the Prime Minister’s Dementia Challenge Group for Air Transport, featured on BBC1's Rip Off Britain recently, commenting on travel experiences of people with hidden disabilities.

In the programme, Ian explained the mechanisms currently in place at airports and on aeroplanes to help people with hidden disabilities, along with how his group is helping to educate airport staff to further improve the quality of their journey.

Watch the Rip Off Britain feature in BBC iPlayer (NB: you must be a TV licence payer to view the episode - Ian's interview begins at 35 minutes.)

Bookings for this awareness session should be made via the link above.

Please note: this session will be filmed by the BBC as part of Rip Off Britain.
