Celebrate Chinese New Year with Plymouth University. Come and join us on campus ahead of the official Chinese year (Monday 8 February 2016 - The Year of the Monkey). 

Chinese Activities Day 

Thursday 4 February, 12:00 - 19:00

Come and visit the Rolle Marquee for our Chinese Activities Day. The day will include:

  • food and drink stalls
  • craft activities
  • dumpling making
  • lantern painting 
  • tea tasting
  • performances including traditional Chinese instruments, dancing, singing and martial arts
  • beauty and therapeutic treatments
  • photo opportunities.

The event is free to attend and is open to everyone. There is no need to pre-book.

The marquee will be open from 12:00 - 19:00; there are also children craft activities available from 15:00.

Chinese New Year Gala Dinner

Friday 5 February, 19:00 - 22:30

Join us for a celebratory night of entertainment and authentic Chinese cuisine. The night will include:

  • a traditional three course dinner 
  • spectacular suspended ribbon dancers
  • hoop aerialists
  • lion dances
  • pot juggling and much more….

The dinner is open to everyone, with tickets priced at £15 per person. Tickets must be pre-booked to attend. This is usually a sell-out event, so tickets will be issued on a first come, first serve basis. 

This year the welcome drinks for the Chinese New Year Gala Dinner are kindly sponsored by PUIC.
