The conference has been postponed until 2021. Keep checking back for updates.

The University of Plymouth and the City of Plymouth are delighted to host the Britain and the World conference in Britain’s Ocean City in 2020, the 400th anniversary of the epic Mayflower expedition across the Atlantic when a group of English Puritans sought sanctuary from religious persecution.

Plymouth is leading a national partnership of 11 destinations to commemorate the Mayflower’s journey and associated heritage of their communities. We hope you will and come join us in commemorating this historic international moment.

Since the Pilgrim Fathers left in 1620 to settle New Plymouth in Massachusetts, more than 50 towns and cities worldwide have adopted the name Plymouth, 32 of them in the US, underlining the conference’s association with Britain’s global interactions.
