Brain Tumour Research Swimathon

Save event

We are excited to share the news that together in partnership with Plymouth Leander and Everyone Active we are hosting the first Brain Tumour Research Swimathon in Plymouth.

The aim
Together our students and staff, along with Plymouth Leander swimmers, are aiming to achieve a distance target of 10km, and to do this each team must swim at least 2.5km. To add a competitive element, the team covering the furthest distance will win the PL Charity Trophy 2016.

You are invited to join us as we fundraise for a world-class team in our city – one that aims to support long-term, life-saving research to move us ever closer to a cure.

The Plymouth University Brain Tumour Research Centre of Excellence is Europe’s leading programme for the treatment of low-grade brain tumours. £1 million a year is required to run the centre and we urgently need more fundraisers to help. Each day of research costs £2,740.

Everyone is welcome to come and cheer on our swimmers at Plymouth Life Centre. Please note all spectators must sign in at reception and complete a photography form. Limited seating is available on a first come, first served basis.
