What could the prosthesis become if it stopped imitating skin and started embracing colour, pattern and story?

Becoming is a provocative art and design show curated by Rosie Brave, exploring the impact of breast cancer and prosthesis design on women's wellbeing and proposing a wild and hopeful alternative.

Showcasing women's stories, reimagined prosthetics, existing products and insights from the design process, Becoming will provide an unforgettable experience.

Becoming proposes that an external breast prosthesis does not need to imitate skin. By rejecting realism and embracing colour, pattern and story, women can have a personal object with positive associations. When women are involved in the design of their prosthesis, new opportunities to express identity or tell alternative stories are created.

A guided tour of the show with curator and lead-creative, Rosie Brave, is available by request. Please email to arrange.
