The ASAB (Association for the Study of Animal Behaviour) Easter Conference is aimed at postgraduate students and post-doctoral researchers studying animal behaviour, but is open to anyone with a keen interest in the field.

The first day will focus on postgraduate training workshops, with the end of that day and subsequent two days involving plenary talks and shorter conference talks.

The programme will be updated and available here as it develops/talks are confirmed.

Plenary speakers

  • Dr Lynne Sneddon, Director of Bioveterinary Science, University of Liverpool.
  • Dr Audrey Dussutour, Université Paul Sabatier
  • Damien Farine, Max Planck Institute for Ornithology (ASAB Christopher Barnard Award for Outstanding Contributions by a New Investigator)

Training workshops

As well as offering ample opportunity to hear about animal behaviour research, the conference will include two workshops to help you hone your skills and prepare yourself for a life in academia.

The first workshop ‘It’s not just me….??! Challenges faced by Early Career Researchers’ will see academics opening up for a refreshingly honest session about the trials and setbacks they have experienced during their academic career path (the bits you don’t normally see on anyone’s CV).

The second workshop will focus on grant writing (focusing on small grants), with input from grant reviewers themselves to help you write a successful proposal.
