The 10th National Apprenticeship Week will bring together employers and apprentices from across England to celebrate the success of apprenticeships over the last decade and will seek to encourage even more people to choose apprenticeships as a fast-track to a great career.
What is National Apprenticeship Week?
National Apprenticeship Week is co-ordinated by the National Apprenticeship Service and is designed to celebrate apprenticeships and
traineeships and the positive impact they have on individuals, businesses and the wider economy.
The objective of the week is to increase awareness and take-up of apprenticeships and traineeships by:
- Recognising apprenticeships as a ladder of opportunity to a brighter future and showing that they are available for all
- Celebrating the benefits apprenticeships bring to employers and the impact apprentices can have on businesses and the wider economy.
- Celebrating 10 years of National Apprenticeship Week and the impact apprentices have made over that time.
Plymouth will be marking National Apprenticeship Week with an inspiring Apprentice Jobs Fair organised jointly by Building Plymouth and the Plymouth Manufacturers Group.
The event brings together the whole of the manufacturing and engineering sectors alongside the construction industry to reinforce the message that these are great career options for young people in Plymouth and the region.
Degree Apprenticeships: innovation in work-based learning
Launched by the government in March 2015, Degree Apprenticeships offer employers the chance to attract emerging talent, or harness the skills of their current workforce by providing an alternative route to traditional university study. Degree Apprenticeships are a partnership between the employer, the Apprentice, and as the training provider.
Plymouth University currently offers two Degree Apprenticeship courses - please visit our stand at this event to find out more.
