Local people are invited to a public debate about the EU referendum.
This meeting is aimed at people who are undecided and unsure about the UK’s EU membership, or perhaps inclined not to vote, despite the importance of this referendum.
The meeting is kindly being facilitated by Dr David Brockington of the University’s School of Government, who will be the independent chairperson for this event.
Molly Scott Cato MEP (Green Party) will speak about the ‘Green Yes’ campaign. Councillor Jonny Morris (Plymouth Labour Party) will speak about the ‘Labour in’ perspective. Sam Lowe (Friends of the Earth) will give the views of a leading environmental organisation. We are also hoping for a speaker from the University to provide an expert’s opinion (tbc). There will be plenty of time for questions and discussion.
"So far this debate has, in the mainstream media, largely been dominated by Conservative Party and 'big business' arguments for Remain or Leave. This is our chance to broaden the debate on such a vital subject for the future of us all."
for any questions about this event.
