The Accelerate workshops are designed to be interactive, bite-sized and informal yet informative. Get clued-up about an employability topic in under an hour!

Each workshop is delivered in small groups, delivered by one of the Careers & Employability Team and aims to develop and improve your knowledge and skills as well as to build up your confidence when interacting with employers. Students from any course and stage are welcome, you do not need to prepare anything or have any prior knowledge of the subject.

Topics include CV and application writing, succeeding in different types of interviews, psychometric testing, assessment centres, PGCE applications, starting your own business, to starting right at the beginning and working out what you would like to do.

Bespoke Accelerate workshops will run before each major employer event to prepare you to participate in these opportunities and to help you to get the maximum benefit from them.

At the end of the second semester, through the summer holidays and into graduation week we also run a special series of Accelerate workshops called Get Career Fit Fast for recent graduates and those wanting an intense series of workshops.

Our workshops are repeated regularly throughout the academic year so make sure you check the Careers & Employability events calendar to see which workshops are coming up. Use the filter at the top the just view Accelerate workshops. Places are limited so booking is essential!

Attending an Accelerate workshop contributes one hour towards the Plymouth Award.

If you would like to find out more about what to expect in an Accelerate workshop before booking, please either call (01752) 587456 or email employability@plymouth.ac.uk.
