Dr Andreas Walmsley will present his research on the impact of the National Living Wage (NLW) on the hospitality sector in this iSPER People, Organisations and Work (POW) research group seminar.
As a low wage sector, the introduction of the NLW is likely to have strong repercussions for the hospitality sector. To understand perceptions of its likely impact and measures envisaged or taken as a response to its introduction, Andreas conducted interviews with senior managers within the hotel sector. He also used the introduction of the NLW to probe views on the employment and business-society relationships within hospitality.
This seminar provides an opportunity to hear about and discuss the findings from Andreas’ research.
This seminar is organised by the iSPER People, Organisations and Work (POW) research group and is aimed at Plymouth University academic staff and postgraduate research students.
Booking is not required to attend but please contact Richard Saundry for more information.
