University has finished for the 2015/16 academic year but that does not mean training and competitions end for International Taekwondo star and University of Plymouth student Katie Bradley.
Throughout July and early August, Katie will have less than one week in the UK due to training and competition commitments across the globe.
Katie’s hectic schedule starts with a well-deserved two week break away with her family, but there's no rest for an elite athlete! Every day of the holiday will include training and gym workouts in order for Katie to maintain fitness for her forthcoming competitions. On her return from holiday, Katie will only spend 36 hours in the UK to collect her training and competition equipment from Plymouth before her next flight to Serbia.
In Serbia, Katie will attend an elite international training camp with at least one Rio Olympian Qualifier, along with many other top fighters from across Europe including fighters from Iran renowned for their strength. This is an amazing opportunity for Katie to train with the worlds best taekwondo competitors and will be her preparation for the European University Games where she will represent Plymouth University in the Female -53kgs Division.
From Serbia, Katie will then fly direct to Croatia to meet with other British students heading to the European University Games when she will compete between 23–25 July.
Following a busy few days competing Katie will return to the UK for a whole two days before setting off to Belgium for a five-day international training camp, and then finally returning home on the 3 August.
Good luck Katie!
