Through Recognition for Prior Learning (RPL) for Year 1 of our Pre-registration Nursing Associate FdSc programme, qualified Assistant Practitioners can apply to join our current September 2021 cohort for Year 2 ONLY which starts on Monday 5 September 2022.
Students will need to be supported by their employer and will attend University 1-day per week (Monday Study Day) for one academic year (September 2022 - July 2023). This opportunity will be available on our Plymouth and Exeter Campus.
Clinical practice hours: In addition to attending Study Days and to meet all Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) requirements for registration, applicants will need to evidence achievement of the following Year 2 clinical practice hours:
- 575 hours in total including
- 230 hours in External Placements
- 345 hours'Protected Learning Time'
This will include:
- Acute Hospital
- Community Nursing
- Child Health
- Mental Health
- Learning Disability
- 'Other' eg GP Practice
