Miriam Darlington and Caspar Henderson have both written about their search for elusive, threatened and disappearing species.
Darlington’s Otter Country is about a tenacious quest to seek out Britain’s most elusive predator, the wild otter. Henderson’s The Book of Barely Imagined Beings travels further afield and traces the trails of destruction humans have left upon ‘barely imagined’ creatures and their ecosystems.
This talk will grapple with the issues raised by these two recent approaches to the wild, as the authors bring their adventures to life, and illuminate our relationship with disappearing species.
