Santander work experience bursaries

What is the Santander work experience bursary?

These bursaries, supported by Santander, give students a chance to gain a valuable insight into a relevant sector they hope to enter that is related to their area of study.

Each bursary is £300 per week for two weeks and work experience must be completed by 31 August 2018.

Work experience must be within the UK and with a SME (small or medium sized business with less than 250 employees with an annual turnover of less than £50 million).

The bursaries will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis, which meet the criteria and at the discretion of the Student Jobs team within the Careers & Employability Service.

Please note all of the funding has been allocated for the 2017/18 cycle. If you would like to apply for the Santander work experience bursary in 2018/19 please email studentjobs@plymouth.ac.uk

How to apply

Step 1 - Make sure you read our criteria document carefully and seek advice if you are unsure of your eligibility.

Step 2 - Approach employers to see if they can offer you work experience – read our guide for support.

Step 3 - Once you’ve secured a position submit an application form via email to our team at studentjobs@plymouth.ac.uk.

If you are an international student on a Tier 4 visa, read our guidance on working hours.

If you would like some assistance with the form or would like to discuss the bursary further please visit the Careers & Employability Hub and speak to a member of our Student Jobs team.

The bursaries will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis, therefore it is advised that you submit your application as soon as you have secured a work experience position.

Alex Channon - BA (Hons) Geography

Being part of Team Rubicon Disaster Relief has been really beneficial in giving me an insight into how I can progress with my career after graduation.

Rebecca Edwards - BSc (Hons) Animal Behaviour and Welfare

Before undertaking work experience with Wildwood Trust, I didn't have a specialism in mind. Now I am able to identify specific areas of zoo keeping that I would consider after graduation.
