PALS leader in BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science

I wanted an opportunity to give back to incoming first years on my course. PALS was something I myself had attended in first year and really enjoyed. It gave me an opportunity to push myself academically. The relaxed and student led environment made it easier for me to discuss ideas while making new friends. I applied to become a leader as a result of the positive experience I had being on the receiving end of PALS.

I have gained so many valuable transferrable skills. PALS has improved my organisational and leadership skills. I have gained confidence with public speaking alongside improvements in my team working methods.

I definitely believe my PALS experience has had an impact on my future. I believe I can transfer the skills I have learnt into just about any role. I am looking to continue in my academic studies with a post graduate degree and I believe being a PALS leader has helped me to understand my personal method of learning. It has also increased my capacity for critical thinking, reflection and self-evaluation. All these valuable skills are sure to be used in my future endeavours.
