Compassionate peer led community to provide emotional and social support to students looking to enhance their mental health and wellbeing
Welcome to S.P.A.C.E – your Wellbeing Café!
Open every Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoon from 12:30–15:30 in the Wellbeing Centre, Endsleigh Place.
The café serves free refreshments and we have a range of games, books and fun things for you to enjoy. You are welcome to bring your guitar or musical instrument of choice and soon we hope to be able to offer some communal instruments. We plan to offer some themed afternoons, such as an acoustic afternoon, arts and crafts and Nit and Natter as the café grows.
S.P.A.C.E. is open to all students and we really encourage anyone who may be feeling a bit anxious or isolated to come along, have a drink, chat and maybe even play a game with our friendly staff.
The café also has a garden where you can sit in the sun or get some lovely fresh air on those colder days! We will be running a 'rent a plant pot' scheme in the garden area where you can hire a plant pot and grow your own mini garden.
We know that not everyone likes a lot of noise or activity so every Wednesday there will be a dedicated 'quiet hour' between 12:30–13:30. During this time we will not play music or instruments and all mobile phones will need to be placed on silent. Will also encourage hushed voices.
We want the café to be a space that is developed and grown by those that use it, so we very much encourage your ideas and suggestions on how we can enhance and grow the café.
