BSc (Hons) Nursing (Adult) Degree Apprentice - Plymouth

Welcome to the School of Nursing and Midwifery at the University of Plymouth. You have already completed part of your nursing studies and are entering a further fascinating intellectual and professional journey to enable you to practice as a Nurse. You will need to stay focused and work hard, but should also aim to enjoy your studies and make the most of your time as a member of the School of Nursing and Midwifery and the University.

The sessions scheduled below will give you the opportunity to find out more about the nursing course in Plymouth, the programme documentation you will be using, timetables and meet some of the staff. You will also become familiar with the University of Plymouth both its campus and the services available to support you.

If an occupational health appointment is required this will take place on Wednesday 19 September 2018 in the rooms below. One room will be designated as a waiting room.

The schedule for the appointments will be available from Monday 17 September 2018.

It is important that you attend your appointment as this is a condition to attending your placement area.  Please ensure you bring a record of any immunisations you may have had to your first appointment. It is possible your first inoculation may take place at this appointment. There will be a series of follow-up appointments for inoculations throughout the first term and you will receive email notification of these.

If you have a needle phobia please advise occupational health before you start via the email below. You will need to quote your name, date of birth and course in any email to occupational health.

Essential information for new international students

Monday 17 – Friday 21 September daily between 16.30–17.00 Devonport Lecture Theatre, Portland Square
This session is delivered by the International Student Advice (ISA) team and is an opportunity for new international students to meet the team and learn about the services they deliver. 

During this session the team will provide you with essential information designed to help you to settle in to living and studying in Plymouth. 
They will also advise you of your tier 4 visa responsibilities and answer any questions you may have related to your visa. 

There is no need to book in advance, you can just turn up.

Welcome party

The Faculty of Health and Human Sciences invites you to attend a very special welcome party in the Graduation Marquee on Plymouth Hoe:

The welcome party is your opportunity to meet informally with other students new to the Faculty of Health and Human Sciences, as well as some current students and your academic staff.

Additionally, the evening includes a complimentary welcome drink, light snacks, entertainment and a raffle for all attendees with a £100 of Amazon vouchers to be won on the night.

*Arrive at the Graduation Marquee on Plymouth Hoe for 19:15, or meet on top of the Student Union at 18:45 to be accompanied to the venue.
