Some documents may need to be returned to the University before you arrive.If you have not already done so, please upload a photograph of yourself using the e@applicant page: https://eservices.plymouth.ac.uk/app/ following the online instructions. 

This photo will appear on your University card, which is issued to you during your induction. Without this photo, your University card cannot be produced and will be delayed getting to you. You will need ID when you pick up your University card and the only form of ID is your passport. NB: this is not required if you already have a University card because you were previously a student on another course or at a Partner College. Your University card will remain valid for the duration of your studies at the University of Plymouth.

1200 - 1300 Campus Tours (optional) – please join in with BMBS Atrium B, B Block, Portland Square Building

A guided tour of the main campus including Portland Square by students

1300 – 1400 Introduction to EBL Sherwell Centre, Lecture Theatre 2 Upper with Professor Hilary Neve, Dr Kerry Gilbert, Dr Siobhan Moyes and Emily Blundy 

You will meet your EBL group and be introduced to the Peninsula 8-step process for EBL along with some of the key skills needed to take part in sessions.

1500 - 1600 Introduction to University Library with Chris Johns, Information Specialist Roland Levinsky Lecture Theatre 1, Roland Levinsky Building

An overview of the range of resources available to you including the University library

1600 - 1700 Patient Safety and Professionalism with Professor Hisham Khalil - Roland Levinsky Lecture Theatre 1, Roland Levinsky Building 

An overview of patient safety and professionalism, its definition and how this is represented within your curriculum. The plenary will also highlight the responsibility of students in maintaining patient safety at all times and how this could be optimized. There will be a specific mention of the FoH raising concerns policy and who students can contact if they have a concern.

0900 – 1100 Manual Handling. This session will take place in Clinical Skills Resource Centre, which is situated in the John Bull Building, Plymouth Science Park, Derriford. You will need to catch the intersite bus.

1300 - 1500 Medical Imaging Science to Applied medicine induction with Carol Price-Thomas, Debbie Kirvell and teaching staff – Room C304, LSRC, Portland Square Building

This introduction to LSRC will give you an idea of the extensive array of resources available to you and what to expect during these teaching sessions and how to approach learning in this new environment. It also kicks off your Anatomy learning. This session includes an introduction to anatomical terminology and surface anatomy to get you started learning this new language and understanding its importance in the clinical setting.
