I obtained my Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Bristol University in 1993 and went on to work in house officer posts in Restorative Dentistry and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, followed by vocational training in general dental practice in Bath. I remained in practice for a further three years and during this time I completed the Diploma of Membership of the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners (MFGDP). In 1999, I returned to full-time education with a place on the one-year Master of Science programme in Conservative Dentistry at the Eastman Dental Institute. I was awarded MSc with distinction from the University of London in 2000 and went on to undertake specialist training in Restorative Dentistry at the Eastman Dental Hospital. In 2006 I successfully completed this training and was appointed as a Consultant in Restorative Dentistry in the Department of Periodontology. I relocated to Cornwall in 2012 to take up the post of Clinical Lead at the Truro Dental Education Facility, Peninsula Dental School.
