Enable increased engagement and interaction with external organisations, particularly industry / business, to enhance research collaboration, knowledge exchange and technology transfer.

Develop and enhance the translation and commercialisation of research outputs and associated services, facilities and expertise to generate income and increase impact.

Identify, develop and deliver diverse funding opportunities for health and medical related research at the University.
Strategy and planning
Assist the development and delivery of University's health and medical research strategy and associated business, operational and action plans.
Professional background
Spent three years as Scientific Director at VIVA Bioscience Ltd, an Exeter based life science research products and technology company, where my key responsibilities included: strategic and business development; collaborative research and project management; new product development and commercialisation; access to grant funding; technical marketing and coordination of operational activities.
Prior to this I worked in management, scientific and technical roles at Enzo Life Sciences Inc., BIOMOL International LLP and Affiniti Research Products Ltd, and as a Post-Doctoral Researcher at Bristol University.
