Specialist (Research)

Role

I am currently working as a specialist in research support and development at the University. My primary role is to lead the work of the Research and Innovation Directorate in strategy and development of the research environment, including governance and procurement of related data and information systems.

A key area of my role is to identify compliance needs and support statutory returns required by Government agencies, funders and other research related audits and processes. Responsible for the deployment and advocacy of research information and data management systems, I also have oversight of central on-line content marketing and communications of research at the University.

Projects I am currently involved in focus on areas of research support related to: the Research Excellence Framework (REF 2014/2020); standards and policy; research management; information and data including Open Access; systems and technology; administrative systems; on-line content; and staff development.
