  • BSc (Hons) Mathematics & Computer Science
  • ILM Level 5 Business Mentor & Coach

After my degree, I initially trained in systems engineering and then account management with IBM. I then followed a classic IBM account management career which culminated in managing the up-stream oil sector for IBM UK.

After 10 years I moved to Hewlett-Packard in California, where I worked with HP’s “Blue Sky Labs” and key partners to identify potential future products. This led me into partnerships and alliances; I created HP’s worldwide $1Bn mid-tier partnership programme, “Recruit-to-Win”, and then moved on to become the worldwide director of the $1.7Bn HP/BT alliance.

I left HP after 15 years to form Max Associates, focusing on guiding SMEs to work with larger organisations in the private and government sectors to create strategic alliances with mutual benefit.  During this time, I was also an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at the Futures Centre, Plymouth Business School & Plymouth Graduate School of Management.

Before moving to the University of Plymouth I spent two years working for The University of Exeter Business School, as Head of Partnerships to drive their Impact Agenda.
