Dr Rana Moyeed

I have retired after having worked at the University of Plymouth from 1996 to 2019. Now I am a visiting researcher at the University. Before joining Plymouth , I held posts at various institutions including Lancaster University (1991-96), the University of Bath (1990-91) and the Centre for Mathematics and Computer Science (CWI) in Amsterdam (1988-90).
I obtained my BSc (Hons) and MSc degrees in Statistics from the University of Dhaka in Bangladesh. I was awarded a Commonwealth Scholarship in 1983 to study for a PhD at the University of Bath in the UK. I received my degree in 1986 for a thesis entitled “A Study of Smoothing Spline Regression”.
I am a fellow of the Royal Statistical Society.
