Lecturer in Publishing, School of Art, Design and Architecture

Qualifications

Lynda has over 15 years' experience in publishing, spanning marketing, editorial and digital. She was Head of Digital Research and Development at Palgrave Macmillan, where she oversaw the launch of the company's e-textbook programme, produced a suite of online learning resources and delivered the division's first apps.

Lynda has guest lectured at Oxford Brookes University, London South Bank University and the University of London. She has also spoken at industry events nationally and internationally, including London Online.

Lynda has a particular interest in commercial strategy and digital project design, and undertakes freelance publishing work alongside her teaching commitments. Since 2019 she has been commissioning books on autism for Jessica Kingsley Publishers, a division of Hachette.

Lynda holds MA Hons English (First class) from the University of St Andrews (2002).

 Lynda is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Roles on external bodies

Lynda is a mentor for both the Society of Young Publishers South West and the Spare Zoom project, Editorial Manager for University of Plymouth's Graphic Design research journal, Message, and a reviewer for industry journal, Interscript.

Lynda lectures on the BA English with Publishing and MA Publishing courses. For MA Publishing she leads the knowledge exchange module MAPU718: The Project.
