Technician (Electron Microscopy - Geosciences)

Geo-sciences Technician in the Plymouth Electron Microscopy Centre. As a technician there I work to provide help and support to all staff, students and industry for any geoscience and physical material based needs and problems, whether that be helping with teaching, supporting students with Electron microscopy work for their projects, or conducting work for businesses.
I work partly on our current European funded project: Plymouth Materials Characterisation Network (PMCN) as physical materials sample preparation technician, helping to provide support to local Devon SME's and small businesses around the country.

My research mainly focuses on Automated mineralogy softwares (Zeiss' Mineralogic and Oxford Instruments' AZtec mienral), that work in conjunction with SEM to help automate the characterisation of rocks and heterogeneous samples using chemical, elemental and textural analysis, with my personal interest in being how it can help in the mining industry.
